Weekly Classes at Triyoga

Triyoga Camden (New Class)

Friday
5.30pm–6.30pm (GMT)

Yoga & Somatics Class

In this new class, I will be more fully integrating somatic practices to create a class where students will be invited to explore movements outside of forms of asanas to help enrich their movement vocabularies. I have created this class in order to support participants increase their ability to maintain healthy body and healing processes when needed, as well as deepening the mind-body connections using expanding movement vocabularies and witnessing skills. When seeking such expansion of consciousness, both in mind & body, it needs time and space that encourage growth and transformative process and those are not necessarily possible in a fast sequenced asana class or strictly form based practices.

In this class, we will explore that by cultivating our capacity to sense and witness what is happening within the body in each moment whether in stillness or in movement, and learning new or more ways to respond and express.

This more process oriented approach to learning will support our embodying our more authentic self that is kind and honest, instead of projecting an image or idea onto ourselves.

The class will be informed by Body-Mind Centering® as well as other somatic practices.

As always, my classes are fun and at the same time, profound. Come with curiosity and we will have fun.

Classes are open to all levels no previous experiences required.

Open level here means including beginners as well as advanced/level 3 students. Everyone will be guided and encouraged to work at own pace and all will benefit.

Testimonials

Aki is one of the most inspiring teachers I have had the pleasure of practicing with. She’s incredibly well informed, sincere, passionate, sensitive and lighthearted, with a beautiful quality of touch, but more importantly she can lead me into myself in a myriad of intriguing and enlightening ways, deepening my practice and my connection to myself.  - Tanya

Aki, your lightness, humour and warmth throughout, exceeded my expectations of meeting you in person, it’s truly a privilege.

Aki talks a whole other language when it comes to yoga.  She enables me to move through my bones and joints, my facia and organs by talking their language and making them feel heard.  My whole body feels heard and moved with Aki. And with this comes movement from a deep place, a deep listening and a deep understanding.  It's like opening a door ajar to another galaxy within.  Thank you Aki for being the one to guide me. - Alice

Thank you so much for the class on Friday I found it illuminating and so refreshing to find a teacher that understands Somatics to such a high degree.

You are a fantastic woman with heaps of natural talent and knowledge. You must have a giant brain! You are a gorgeous woman with real gravitas.

Triyoga Camden (New Time)

Friday
6.45pm–8 pm (GMT)

Restorative Yoga class.

This is a very special class to me and to those who come to the class. It is unique and not just an ordinary restorative class. Despite its seeming simplicity in approach, it is infused with little pieces of somatic awareness, my embodied understanding of the nervous system, ongoing research and love about “being human”.

I have taught this class since 2008 in Triyoga Primrose Hill centre and then in Camden when the centre moved. It has been most loved by so many people and has enjoyed consistently good attendance throughout those years.

In person in the Triyoga Soho studio as well as livestream.

Testimonials

Aki’s restorative and somatic classes, quite seriously, saved me. It sounds hyperbolic, but at a time of intense stress, trauma, and chronic fatigue I found her class by accident. For the first time in my life I experienced a safe space, where I felt fully able to release and to heal. The sense in my nervous system, was that this was what I had always needed, but never been allowed before. I was struggling with addiction, and allowing my nervous system to move towards a more balanced, regulated state, very often prevented me from reaching to unhelpful behaviours. - James

 ** About Triyoga Soho Closure

Following the financial damage caused by the pandemic, sadly, Triyoga Soho is going to close its door after thriving strongly for 17 years. Out of all 5 Triyoga Centres, Triyoga was hit the hardest due to the nature of its location. The centre will close permanently on March 28th. I have taught there since the very first week of its opening and I feel sad to see it go yet feeling a renewed sense of appreciating & gratitude for all the amazing experiences I have had there - especially those people I met, students, staff.
