Hand and Foot Double Labs…
Two labs covering the topics of Hands and Feet!
To embody the hands is to feel each part of them, to sense how they connect to the whole upper limb, and how they are integrated with the rest of the body.
Our hands are extensions of our central self, particularly through our mouth & gut. Through them, we express our inner experience. They reach & bring back what nourishes us, and they can let go or push away what we don’t want. Hands are also deeply connected to our heart too.
Our feet are very similar. When we embody the feet, we sense their many parts, their connection to the lower limbs, and their relationship to the whole body. Like the hands, they are extensions of our central self—yet they also bear our weight, connect us to the earth, and carry us through space toward (or away from) what we desire.
Sensing, feeling, and embodying these extremities is profoundly helpful when we experience stress or anxiety. The reasons are rooted in the nervous system—and I will talk more about this cool tip during the labs.
